Dahrling, David |
Mathematics Chairman |
Awesome person; was great at teaching Pre-Calculus, was great at golf, was great at frisbee golf, was great at ultimate frisbee...the list goes on and on. |
|
Fitzpatrick, John |
English |
Clearly the best English teacher I had at Prep (and for that matter, ever), he is a walking book of Shakespeare knowledge. I can admit that when I read Shakespeare by myself, I can't understand a thing, but he went through a lot of Shakespeare material and made it understandable. |
|
McBeth, Neil |
Mathematics, Supercomputing |
Very friendly, helpful, and a great person to be around. Taught me Calculus, monitored our progress for the New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge, and even taught Mr. Dahrling above when he was a student! |
|
Minnerly, Blake |
Physics |
Physics is a difficult subject, and Mr. Minnerly was able to present it in a way which was easy to understand, even though the material may have been extremely difficult. Right now I believe he is at TVI, but if you can get him, do so. |
|
Owens, Willie |
Physical Education |
Enjoys losing (K.C. Chiefs). Would be a cool person if he liked a real team like the Broncos. Just kidding; fun person to have for PE, and just a great person to talk to, especially being a Broncos fanatic. |
|
Polansky, Ernest |
Science Chairman |
Has been teaching forever and put me through the most unique science class I've probably ever had (Biology II). One semester was studying fruit flies; the other was spent studying bacteria. Also guided me through the Science Symposium project (can't remember the exact name), and is a wonderful person to know. |
|
Thompson, Leigh |
Chemistry |
Had her for Chemistry II, which I found extremely difficult. However, a nice person once you get to know her, and if you can get through the class, it will probably help you down the road in surviving any other class you might take. |
Sandia Prep News: I haven't been to Prep in awhile, but I'm sure things are going as good as ever there. Get a load of this, the year after I graduated, Sandia Prep gets a tennis team (men's and women's), and some 9th grade girls win the New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge, two things I was either involved in or interested in...go figure. Anyway, congrats to the winners of that Supercomputing Challenge and Neil McBeth, who has been such a major part of Supercomputing at Sandia Prep for so many years, and good luck to the tennis teams at Prep.
